Nurse Manager (RN) - Med Surg (Days)

The Nurse Manager performs nursing duties following hospital policy/procedure and supervises other nursing personnel who are responsible for patient care. The Nurse Manager assumes 24 hour responsibility for the management of patient care and the personnel who are assigned to that area. This nurse has an in depth knowledge of nursing practice/management and takes responsibility for the development and nurturing of self. This position will include accountability for maintaining high standards of patient care and nursing practice for the entire unit. The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating and coordinating the nursing care provided on the unit utilizing the nursing process.

Education

Associate Degree or 2 years of college coursework; Bachelor's degree within 2 years

Experience

Five years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.

Licenses & Certifications

*Georgia Registered Nurse or Multistate Nursing License

*Healthcare Provider (CPR)

Qualifications

*B.S. in nursing preferred

*Effective presentation skills.

*Proficient in written and verbal communication skills for documentation and patient, family and staff interactions to convey clear concise instructions and to accept information to understand and make decisions.

*Demonstrates leadership, sound judgement and the ability to organize.
