Job Summary
Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the personal care and home health aide training program as well as other clinician training appropriate for the delivery of healthcare services in the home
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assists leadership in planning, organizing, and facilitating individual and group education for Personal Care/Homemaking Home Health Aide, Supportive Home Care Aide and CNA trainings using MA and ME State approved curriculum.
  • Utilizing adult learning principles provides classroom instruction, skills demonstrations, hands-on clinical education, competency evaluations, and ongoing staff development to ensure caregivers provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, skills checklists, and educational resources as needed
  • Provides training to the clinical team to offer independent training in each care center.
  • Assists with development and oversight of the clinical orientation program for new hires.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with state and federal guidelines as well as adherence to the philosophy, mission, and values of HouseWorks in developing and administering training.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and incorporate updates into training curricula
  • Develops and implements in-service programs each calendar year, including state and federal mandatory in-services.
  • Aligns training programs with business needs and goals to prioritize assignments accordingly.
  • Applies knowledge of current industry standards, corporate initiatives and current technologies to enhance quality and delivery of education materials.
  • Provides supervision and/or training to the paraprofessional staff.
  • Collaborates with compliance department to ensure records of training programs are complete and up to date
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, competencies, certifications, and continuing education.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Comply with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the HouseWorks Compliance Program.
  • Support caregiver retention through mentoring and professional development opportunities
  • Supervision and participation in annual review of LPN clinicians conducting training classes
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Required
    • Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse specific to the state(s) the employee is assigned to provide supervision/training of clinical staff.
    • Associate degree in nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
    • Two (2+) years of clinical experience, with at least one year in home health or hospice.
  •  Preferred
    • Two (2+) years of experience in clinical education development.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in applying processes designed to ensure adherence to all pertinent federal and state rules and regulations.
  • Ability to present information effectively to diverse learning audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems

Work Environment:
Travel for on-site training and field visits will be mandatory throughout MA in our care centers.  A significant portion of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination.

 

Pay Range: The hiring range for this position is $43-$45/Hourly. Various factors will determine final compensation, such as a candidate’s years of relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.

Skills Required

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license valid in the state or states where the employee will supervise or train clinical staff
  • Associate degree in nursing
  • At least two years of clinical experience, including at least one year in home health or hospice
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • At least two years of experience developing clinical education programs
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Competence applying processes to ensure adherence to federal and state rules and regulations
  • Ability to present information effectively to diverse learning audiences
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems
