DEFINITION:
The Nurse Assistant performs various patient care tasks and uses non-professional skills to assist the nurse in providing personal care and comfort measures. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Nurse Assistant performs delegated tasks and procedures of patient care, involving the physical, psychological, social, emotional, safety, and security needs of the patient. Nurse assistants also know the duties of the unit secretary which include being responsible for specific assigned area and all related duties for that area. Exercising sound judgment in making routine decisions and seeks assistance in more complex decisions. Handles confidential information appropriately.
This is a safety sensitive position.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Certification or previous experience
