NUAR Product Manager

Full time | £56,755 - £66,215 (dependent on experience)

Hybrid working (4 days in office)

Who we are

We are Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s national mapping service and a global leader in geospatial data and technology. For over 230 years, our data has helped governments, businesses and communities make better decisions about the world around them.

The Opportunity

The National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) is a critical UK infrastructure service, transforming how underground asset data is accessed and used.

We are looking for a Product Manager to take accountability for the in-life product management of the NUAR service, ensuring it remains effective, aligned to the needs of its existing customers and evolves to deliver increasing value to a wider audience.

You will report to and work in close partnership with the NUAR Service & Proposition Lead, who holds ultimate accountability for overall service performance and lifetime value delivery. In this role, you will focus on managing the service in-life, ensuring it delivers increasing value through a roadmap that responds to market insights, responding to user needs and delivering operational performance in line with business expectations.

Sitting within the NUAR service team, this role plays a key part in ensuring that service decisions are grounded in real performance, user insight and operational feedback. You will remain close to customers (existing and new), empathising with their contexts and needs to distil insight into roadmap, and then work across internal teams to manage enhancements, improvements and changes—ensuring the service evolves in a controlled, evidence-based way that maintains stability while improving outcomes.

This is a role for someone who thrives on optimising live services, maintaining performance, and ensuring that change is delivered effectively within a complex, operational environment.

What you’ll do

  • Translate user insight into service change
Empathise with customer needs ensuring user feedback and insight are captured and translated into clear service improvements and requirements

  • Own in-life road map
Develop the service during its in-life phase: service lifecycle and roadmap management and delivery

  • Drive service improvements and enhancements
Identify and deliver updates and enhancements based on insight, adoption and user feedback

  • Coordinate across Customer and Product teams
Align market outcomes and go to market plans to maximise the long term success of the service

  • Support delivery of service outcomes
Work closely with the Service Owner and Service & Proposition Lead to ensure service changes support performance and delivery

  • Champion service clarity internally
Act as a key point of contact for service knowledge, ensuring teams understand insight, changes and priorities

  • Balance demand, feasibility and delivery constraints
Support prioritisation by balancing user needs, technical capability and delivery capacity

  • Coordinate delivery across teams
Work with Service Owner, technology, data and operational teams to deliver changes effectively within the live service

  • Contribute to service reviews and planning
Provide performance insight to inform roadmap discussions, without owning overall service strategy

About you

  • You have experience managing services in-life, focusing on adoption, performance, improvement and lifecycle management

  • You are confident using KPIs, metrics and user insight to drive improvements

  • You understand how to operate within a live service environment, where performance, stability and change must be carefully balanced

  • You have experience working across multidisciplinary teams, including customer, technology, operations and delivery

  • You are able to translate user feedback into practical service improvements

  • You are a clear and pragmatic communicator, able to share performance, priorities and changes internally

  • You are comfortable working in complex, evolving environments, managing competing demands and constraints

  • You take a structured, delivery-focused approach, ensuring changes are controlled, effective and aligned to service needs

The Rewards

We want you to love what you do and feel supported to do your best work.

Our benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and Pension (OS contribute up to 12.07%)

  • Performance‑related bonus (where applicable)

  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service)

  • Enhanced family leave, including paid partner leave

  • Flexible working options

  • Learning and development support, coaching and mentoring

  • Free subscription to OS Maps and access to wellbeing support

  • Volunteering leave and matched fundraising

Location

We embrace a hybrid working model at OS, supporting flexibility and collaboration. You’ll be based at our headquarters in Southampton, and we anticipate you will spend an average of four days a week on-site, working closely with colleagues to drive alignment and impact.

Security

OS conducts pre-employment checks for anyone made an offer of employment, including identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record checks (via Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS)).

This role will require additional security vetting.

Closing date: Sunday 23rd August 2026 at 23:59pm

Interviews are scheduled to take place from in person at Ordnance Survey Head office.

Inclusion

We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that people may need during the recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during the application process.

Research indicates that women, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ community members, neurodiverse individuals, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Ordnance Survey, we are dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and genuine workplace where everyone can thrive. You might be the ideal candidate for this or other roles within Ordnance Survey.
