Job Description:
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Undergraduate Research Assistant (URA) positions for the School of Nuclear Science & Engineering (NSE) at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position performs a variety of duties including routine to complex technical or specialized tasks in support of research, clinical or administrative work. Positions may include laboratory research and data collection.
Position Duties
- Perform laboratory experiments, tests, or simulations under supervision.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain research equipment; monitor supply inventory and assist with ordering materials as needed.
- Accurately document experimental results, observations, and measurements in lab notebooks or electronic databases; maintain organized records for reproducibility.
- Use software tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel) to analyze collected data, generate graphs/charts, and summarize findings for review by senior researchers.
- Follow all safety guidelines and institutional compliance standards; participate in safety training as required.
