Job Description

Our client is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic / Service Associate (Base Operations) to support daily fleet operations for an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company.

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the vehicles, including cleaning, fueling, and ensuring the test site is organized and presentable for operations. You will also support regulatory compliance for the fleet, assist the parts team with organizing and transporting spare parts inventory, and help the driving team, Alpha Operations, with operational testing needs.

This role is based in Miami, FL with the following schedules:

  • Tuesday–Saturday: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

  • Sunday–Thursday: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support company milestones and optimize drive operations across multiple locations.

  • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and workplace are clean and ready for use.

  • Provide logistical support for the movement and storage of vehicles and equipment.

  • Assist with paperwork and documentation related to vehicle readiness.

  • Perform routine charging of test vehicles and supporting equipment.

  • Execute mission prep procedures, including software launches, verifying SW/HW configurations, deploying software, capturing requested data, and escalating issues.

  • Support spare parts readiness and inventory management.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical support to BaseOps technicians.

  • General testing support (documentation, pre-mission assistance, cone courses, obstacles, traffic control, support vehicle driving).

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of work experience

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean/excellent driving record

  • Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screen

  • Compliance with the Substance Abuse Policy

  • “Get it done” attitude with urgency to resolve problems

  • Proven problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Works well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair

  • Proficiency with Jira/Confluence

  • Proficiency with MS Office/Google Suites

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment

Commitment:
This is a full-time, ongoing contract position onsite in Miami, FL. Candidates must be local.

Compensation: $25/hour

Shift Options:

  • Tue–Sat, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

  • Sun–Thu, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

Role Summary:
Prep vehicles for daily operations and in-between missions, including software updates, fueling/charging, tire checks, oil level checks, sanitization, submitting maintenance requests, and tracking vehicle progress/status electronically.
