Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Compliance and Risk Manager to join our growing team in North America. This is a first line role that will span multiple areas of compliance, primarily focused on consumer compliance regulations, but also include fincrime and state money transmitter requirements (e.g. safeguarding). It will give you a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission, grow as a product compliance leader, and help save millions more people money.
Your Mission:
Collaborate On Product Design
- Empower Product Teams to build risk based products, processes, and controls
- Design practical and customer-oriented product solutions while ensuring full compliance of the US and Canada product offering
- Perform pre-launch and ongoing product compliance regulatory analysis and risk assessments
- Offer effective advice to Product Managers on existing and forthcoming Regulations, gaps, and risks.
- Collaborate with Compliance colleagues, to ensure Wise Product Teams are constantly aware of the most recent regulations and guidance
- Work with Product Teams and the wider Compliance Team to implement and maintain Management Information that enables Wise to make informed decisions at the regional and Global levels
- Contribute to audit management and, where required, challenge audit findings in collaboration with Compliance second line and Product teams
- Deliver effective issue management to mitigate regulatory risks
A bit about you:
We are looking for someone passionate about payments, fintech and compliance risk management and with an eye on the future. You should have:
- You have 4-5 years of experience spanning across multiple areas of compliance, from consumer protection to financial crime, permissible investments, and more
- Familiar with regulations such as Reg E, UDAAP, E-Sign Act, Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and state Money Transmission License regulations
- CRCM, CAMS, or equivalent certification desirable
- Previous Financial Regulation advisory role or experience in a Compliance/Legal department, Risk and Controls function or in a consultancy environment;
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to develop regulatory or financial crime controls
- Strong data analytics skills, with comfort using a BI tool such as Looker, and an understanding of how to interpret and monitoring KRIs
- Hybrid work with in-person collaboration with our Austin and New York based teams as well as occasional international travel to work with colleagues in other offices worldwide.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Product Managers and Engineers and provide practical, actionable, and value added recommendations;
- Experience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing environment;
- Willing to travel, as Wise offices are located across different countries; and
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
We expect new joiners in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months. After that, most Wisers split their working week between the office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month.
