Our operation in Latin America provides tools, accessories and service parts to customers in different countries across the region. The distribution network counts with Distribution Centers in seven markets to serve six major businesses (SBU’s) with thousands of product items. Our main sources are from Asia and USA. An effective supply planning process and ultimately a strong Integrated Business Planning (IBP) are needed to fulfill our markets and customers’ needs while keeping a high level of efficiency in our operations. The Supply Planning North Cluster Manager / Sr. Manager leads a team of ~8 planners managing the supply planning function across 3 markets comprising the North Cone (Mexico, CCA/ECU, Colombia). Within his/her responsibilities it is included the Miramar DC planning, which supports other markets beyond the North Cluster. He or she interacts with regional and local commercial, marketing, demand planning and customer supply chain teams, General Managers, Senior Latin America Management and T&O reginal and global Supply Chain Leadership Teams with the end targets of keeping high service levels for customers, while maintaining an optimized inventory level.He/she directs a team of supply planners to establish and refine an optimal inventory policy that properly balances service requirements with inventory levels to service customers in the markets under scope. He/she interacts with the Demand Planning, Commercial and Finance organizations to refine forecasts, identify constraints and manage working capital, as well as with the suppliers and manufacturing organizations to coordinate product supply, prioritize shipments and manage and resolve unexpected situations. Unit Fill Rate and Inventory value and coverage (DSI) are the main KPIs under responsibility.A successful candidate possesses high business judgement, proven supply chain management experience, strong skills in working collaboratively and cross-functionally, and a track record of delivering results. He or she will have strong analytical and leadership capabilities, including experience handling multi-country complexity in a fast-pace environment and leading people remotely and laterally. The position requires an individual who can work both autonomously and collaboratively in a demanding and often ambiguous environment with strong attention to detail and effective prioritization.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and manage the supply planning model and inventory policy, with clear definition of roles, responsibilities and inputs provided by each stakeholder
- Ensure that the supply plan and supply constraints are properly determined, generated, documented, communicated and incorporated in the Integrated Business Plan for each market
- Implement standard processes for the supply function under a continuous improvement philosophy
- Improve Unit Fill Rate and Working Capital Management through supply planning best practices
- Monitor short and long term supply plan execution. Identify and document deviations, clearly isolates root causes and develops corrective and mitigation actions
- Clearly defines and executes a path to meet or exceed KPI targets. Will not allow / tolerate complacency with deviations.
- Coordinate and facilitate the weekly and monthly supply review activities and rhythms
- Accountable for the monthly supply planning step outlined by the IBP process to achieve a supply plan by working with Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and suppliers / plants
- Ensures consistency of the supply planning activities across the cluster and region through standard processes and robust documentation practices.
- Work with various cross-functional teams on projects such as new product launches, line extensions and product discontinuations. Demonstrate sound business decision making that's aligned with company goals.
- Develops, implements, and drives collaboration processes with key plants and suppliers within or outside of the LAG region
- Search and implement new technologies, platforms and processes to improve the supply planning and IBP results
- Lead a team of about 8 demand planners in his/her direct team, as well as laterally to peers managing the other clusters and vertically to provide guidance to leadership
- Develop the supply planning team technical and leadership skills through training, coaching and projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Engineering or related field. MBA a plus
- 7-10 years of experience working within the Logistics & Supply Chain functions
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience with modeling, analysis and simulation tools
- APIC’s CPIM or similar inventory management professional certification is a big plus
- Strong Supply Management Knowledge and Hands On Experience
- Proven expertise in JDA or SAP planning modules and/or or other major planning systems
- Solid knowledge of the IBP Process
- Problem solving and analytical skills required. Business acumen, preferably in corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage the work of others and to work with other departments.
- Strong people skills
