Job Description:

Seeds of Change Brand Director at Mars

The Seeds of Change Associate Brand Director is responsible for leading the Seeds of Change brand, developing the value creation strategy and go to market plans, owning full funnel marketing from content creation to implementation, creating the innovation masterplan, and delivering value creation plans with emphasis on growth. This role must build new capability for "Seed Quadrant" insurgent brands including an alternate demand model and whitespace expansion and act as the business leader of the cross-functional Seeds of Change Acceleration Team.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of marketing and brand management experience required; food brands and start up brands preferred
  • People leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to operate successfully in a “start-up” environment; ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial / founder’s mindset

What will be your key responsibilities?

BUSINESS AND ENTERPRISE LEADERSHIP

  • Be an enterprise business leader of the brand: Own and manage the P&L, including topline and bottom line, collaborate with full enterprise (Supply, Commercial, Demand Planning, Sales) on the Seeds of Change demand forecast and identify corrective actions as needed.
  • Define and build Seed Quadrant model for Mars Food to accelerate insurgent brands, including but not limited to alternate demand model, whitespace expansion, new capability building within Mars Food (new innovation model, sourcing strategy of organic/better-for-you ingredients)
  • Partner with sales to drive SEEDS OF CHANGE category story, sell-in SEEDS OF CHANGE and role model best in class One Demand partnership
  • Lead the Seeds of Change 3-year value creation plan and annual operating plans process.

BRAND BUILDING

  • Design and implement long-term and annual Marketing Plans to deliver the growth and earnings expectations.
  • Design and implement brand marketing strategies and content creation aligned with our Brand Essence and Guidelines.
  • Use market research and business analytics to enhance brand awareness, household penetration, consumer offtake.
  • Deliver robust innovation 3 year pipeline while championing a Test, Build, Scale innovation model for the organization
  • Lead new product launches through collaboration with R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales.
  • Direct external agency partners (advertising agency, media agency, shopper marketing, dCom, etc.).
  • Lead packaging development projects on core + Innovation
  • Serve as a brand steward to ensure the marketing strategy and positioning is accurately represented in all marketing activities and materials.

ASSOCIATE ENGAGEMENT AND BUILDING EFFECTIVE TEAMS

  • Develop and engage a direct report across key Marketing and Leadership competencies
  • Lead and build a high performing SEEDS OF CHANGE Acceleration Team
  • Ensure a culture of trust, open communication and sustained performance

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

  • Accelerate Omnicommerce growth for SEEDS OF CHANGE through convergence of marketing, digital media, shopper marketing, eCommerce and CRM
  • Develop breakthrough Digital Demand Creation Plans via a One Brief approach across all agency partners

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits.  Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
