Raymond James is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support our enterprise HPE NonStop/Tandem environment. This is a high-impact role where you'll design infrastructure solutions, ensure system integrity and security, and collaborate across teams to support critical business operations.

Job Description

This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week (10-12 days a month ) at the following office location: Corporate Office, St. Petersburg, FL or Denver, CO.

Please note: This role is not eligible for Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.

Administers and manages complex enterprise technology solutions.  Acts as primary support and central point of contact on large HPE NonStop/Tandem environment with significant impact across the firm. Extensive contact with internal customers, other technology professionals, and vendors is required to identify, research, analyze, and resolve system issues and problems.  Applies specialized domain knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data.  Makes judgements and recommendations based on analysis and knowledge.      

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain complex HPE NonStop systems across development, test, and production environments.

  • Perform implementations and upgrades in compliance with security and change control guidelines

  • Ensure availability, security, and integrity of the environment

  • Monitor systems to maintain the stability of the environment by monitoring dashboards & alerts

  • Troubleshoot and remediate or escalate issues as appropriate

  • Manage the evaluation and implementation of new products and technologies which typically cover a broad variety of enterprise-class infrastructure disciplines

  • Create or update documentation for system specifications, system configuration, troubleshooting, flow charts and technical diagrams

  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements regarding application availability.

  • Serve as central point of contact and as a liaison to other IT departments and vendors regarding installations, maintenance, licensing, upgrades, and issue remediation.

  • Evaluate and identify ways to automate, streamline, and improve day-to-day maintenance and administrative practices

  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including assisting with fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans

  • May participate in projects including preparing project plans, assigning tasks, monitoring statuses, coordinating efforts, validating team recommendations, integrating efforts into a comprehensive strategy, and delivering results on time.

  • May require non-traditional shift outside of core business hours including night and/or weekend hours in support of work such as upgrades, Disaster Recovery tests, etc. 

  • Requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation once every 8 weeks

  • Special projects and/or assignments may require travel.  Associates not located in Home Office may be required to travel depending on location and business need

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge/Skills Concepts, principles, and practices of Infrastructure Support Required

  • Strong troubleshooting skill required

  • Open to learning new technologies required

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools required

  • Core NonStop concepts including the following: 

    • Security (Xygate product suite)

    • MiddleWare (IBM MQ, iTP WebServer, REST Calls)

    • HP NonStop databases (Enscribe, SQL/MP, SQL/MX)

    • Integration of the NonStop with Enterprise applications/software (LDAP, SailPoint, CyberArk)

Preferred Skills:

  • Back-ups (ETI-Net BackBox)

  • Automation through use of macros (TACL)

  • Prognosis, Remote Analyst

  • Understanding of replication methodologies (Oracle Golden Gate)

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prognosis, Remote Analyst)

  • Working knowledge on Windows platform technology is a plus

  • Working knowledge on Linux platforms is a plus

  • Reporting tools such as Tableau, SPLUNK is a plus

Education

Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Computer Engineering, Bachelor’s: Computer Systems Analysis, High School (HS) (Required)
