Octopus by RTG is hiring for a reputable insurance company with headquarters in Riyadh a skilled NOC Specialist (Monitoring) to join the team.

Overview:

We are seeking a Monitoring and Command Center Specialist to oversee and manage network alerts, events, and services within our Command Center. This role involves continuous monitoring of network performance and ensuring timely escalation of incidents. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and maintain service quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage SMC network alerts, events, and services using SolarWinds and AppDynamics.
  • Provide escalation and notification for minor, critical, and major incidents.
  • Conduct initial analysis to identify issues and follow up with the restoration team (2nd line of support).
  • Respond to alert notifications within agreed SLA timeframes and create/manage trouble tickets for detected problems.
  • Ensure all docket information is accurately captured in the activity log.
  • Manage technical escalations to ensure faults are resolved within agreed SLAs.
  • Escalate and notify management and other business units during system outages.
  • Assist the team leader in generating activity reports for customer verification.
  • Check and certify newly configured alert elements for operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with the IT operations team on process improvements and tool/system development.
  • Monitor critical and major network events closely, updating customer counterparts as needed.
  • Tackle and escalate complaints related to critical issues (e.g., servers, URLs, applications) in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Participate in business continuity efforts and address emergency infrastructure issues as needed.
  • Perform daily checks on pending alerts and follow up for clearance.
  • Address management requests and queries promptly and perform active monitoring, especially during special events.
Requirements

General Competence:

  • Proficient in written and spoken English with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative abilities.
  • Flexible and responsive to changing work patterns and demands.
  • Methodical and thorough approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work under tight time scales while maintaining focus on network performance.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and good PC skills.
  • Excellent team player.

Technical Competence:

  • Good understanding of applications, their topology, and handling capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand performance reports and monitor alerts/KPIs during activities.
  • Experience conducting continuous daily audits on alarm counts and following up with relevant teams.

Training, Education, and Experience:

  • Vendor or operator certification with participation in official training courses.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations, maintenance, or service environments.
