The Opportunity: 

ECI is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Systems Monitoring Engineer to join our 24x7 monitoring team. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, and datacenter operations. This role is responsible for monitoring infrastructure alerts, performing initial troubleshooting, escalating incidents when required, and ensuring timely response to operational events.

This is an onsite role.

What you will do:

  • Monitor servers, applications, network devices, and cloud infrastructure using monitoring tools.
  • Monitor and perform initial troubleshooting of infrastructure alerts including server down, server reboot, service failures, disk space utilization, performance issues, ensuring timely response and escalation when required.
  • Monitor and manage virtualized infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, VMware vCenter, and Hyper-V, including VM provisioning support, power operations, health verification, resource utilization checks, and troubleshooting of virtual machine-related incidents.
  • Create, update, and manage incidents in the ITSM platform.
  • Escalate issues to specialized teams following documented procedures.
  • Perform basic administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments.
  • Follow shift handover procedures and ensure critical alerts are actively tracked until resolution.
  • Participate in major incident management and bridge calls when required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
  • Adhere to ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

Who you are:

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT Operations, Monitoring, Service Desk, or Infrastructure Support.
  • Basic understanding of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud concepts.
  • Understanding of datacenter fundamentals including:
    • Servers and virtualization
    • Storage concepts
    • Network fundamentals
    • High availability concepts
  • Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS etc.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident management processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a 24x7 shift environment.

 

Bonus points if you have:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, or OneDrive.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in network and system support and monitoring
  • Experience in configuration, management, and monitoring of routers and switches
  • Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google
  • Certifications such as CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, MCSA, MCSE
