Description
The NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining SMS and telecom infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted service, fast incident resolution, and continuous optimization of routing performance and network reliability. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, proactive monitoring, and close collaboration with technical and commercial teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor SMS traffic, routing performance, and network health in real time
- Ensure consistent availability of messaging platforms and routing infrastructure
- Detect, investigate, and resolve delivery failures, latency, and routing issues
- Analyze logs, alarms, and network alerts to identifyroot causes and prevent recurrence
- Respond to incidents and escalate issues to relevant internal teams or suppliers
- Troubleshoot SMS routing, SMPP connections, and telecom integrations
- Collaborate with vendors, operators, and aggregators during outages or performance degradation
- Support configuration changes, system upgrades, and deployment activities
- Maintain documentation, incident reports, and operational procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring tools, routing strategies, and network reliability
- Coordinate technical setup of new interconnections (SMPP, SIP, SS7, VPN, etc.)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in NOC, telecom, or messaging environments
- Experience with A2P SMS infrastructure or telecom networks
- Understanding of SMPP, TCP/IP, SIP/RTP fundamentals
- Experience monitoring network performance and troubleshooting incidents
- Familiarity with SMS routing, delivery reports, and traffic analysis
- Experience with packet capture (PCAP) analysis and log investigation
- Knowledge of monitoring tools, alerting systems, and incident workflows
- Understanding of telecom network architecture and routing logic
- Experience supporting integrations with telecom operators, aggregators, or enterprise platforms
