Main Duties
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily carpentry operations and crew assignments to meet project timelines.
  • Interpret architectural drawings and blueprints to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Estimate material quantities, prepare cost and labour estimates, and order supplies as needed.
  • Inspect work for quality, enforce building codes and safety standards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate carpentry tradespersons and apprentices on techniques and best practices.
  • Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project continuity and resolve site issues.
Requirements
  • Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship, trade certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Several years of hands-on carpentry experience with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Physical ability to perform and supervise construction tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with basic computer literacy for schedules and estimates.
