Main Duties
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electricians and telecommunications technicians on construction and service sites.
  • Interpret and review electrical and telecommunications plans, specifications, and schematics to develop work plans and material lists.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, telecommunications standards, and workplace safety regulations; conduct site safety briefings and inspections.
  • Assign tasks, monitor quality of work, provide technical guidance, and deliver on-the-job training to crew members.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, inspectors, and project managers to schedule work and resolve technical or logistical issues.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, track materials and labour usage, and report on project progress and performance metrics.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized electrical or telecommunications apprenticeship program, trade certificate, or equivalent vocational training.
  • Several years of practical experience in electrical or telecommunications trades, including supervisory or lead responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, telecommunications standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing schedules, materials, and crew assignments on job sites.
  • Ability to work safely at construction sites, including performing physical tasks and participating in required safety training.
