Your next career opportunity  
You will support and help advance solution-state NMR capability within the Melbourne Magnetic Resonance Platform at the Bio21 Institute. You will support and train a diverse research community, drive advanced methods, and contribute to collaborative, high-impact publications. 

What you will deliver:  

  • Provide expert solution-state NMR training, induction and user support, including workshops, SOPs and tailored development programmes. 

  • Manage day-to-day operation, calibration, maintenance and optimisation of solution-state NMR instruments and related infrastructure. 

  • Support development of new NMR methods and workflows, contributing to ongoing platform capability and collaborative research.

  • Support strategic planning, reporting, lifecycle management and funding applications that sustain and grow the MMR platform. 

  • Promote safe, compliant operations and contribute to mentoring, seminars and engagement that uplift the research community. 

You may be a great fit if:  

  • Hold a PhD in chemistry, biophysical sciences, biochemistry, physics, engineering or a closely related discipline. 

  • Demonstrate expertise in solution-state NMR spectroscopy and data analysis . 

  • Bring hands-on experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting NMR instruments within a multi-user or core facility environment.

  • Experience with high-throughput or automated NMR workflows is advantageous.

  • Develop and deliver effective training, inductions and documentation for users from diverse scientific backgrounds and disciplines. 

  • Excel at managing competing priorities, coordinating complex facility operations and contributing to strategic planning and reporting. 

  • Champion rigorous safety practices, risk management and compliance with OH&S requirements in laboratory environments.

The platform brings together cutting-edge instrumentation and expert staff to support magnetic resonance research across multiple faculties.
