NewsNation is looking for a Line Producer to join the team for the dayside program NewsNation Now. The line producer plays a lead role in managing creation of the show's rundown and facilitates the production process from the daily pitch meeting to the execution of the live show in the control room collaborating with editorial and production staff throughout the day. The position is based at the network's offices in New York.
Duties & Responsibilities
·Works with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer to create the show's rundown and manage workflow for a team which includes segment producers, writers, and associate producers
·Works with director and production crew on technical aspects of broadcast
·Writes scripts including but not limited to opens, and teases
·Facilitates creation of in-show graphics and story titles
·Works with executive producer and senior producer to copy edit show
·Times newscast in the control room during live broadcast
·Coordinates with assignment desk and control room staff being proactive about troubleshooting problems and responding to breaking news
·Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
· Experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 market
· Experience covering politics and government
· Strong news judgement
· Quick decision maker and creative thinker
· Effective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levels
· Collaborative team player who advocates for their show but find ways to elevate network reporting
· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
· Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Proficiency with ENPS
· Flexibility to work different shifts
Salary Range: (per experience) $100,000 - $115,000
