WBTW News 13 is Myrtle Beach/Florence’s #1 rated news team on air and on digital, and a CBS Affiliate Station owned by Nexstar Media Inc. News 13 is looking for an energetic and engaging Newscast Producer who we can train to master identifying pertinent news for our viewing area, produce content from our regional and national news partners, stack a newscast, work positively with reporters, write engaging copy and work with anchors and production team in a positive manner to lead for a successful newscast. The applicant must be willing to work any shift, including possibly weekends, early mornings or other shifts. The applicant should be a news “junkie,” aware of the news landscape and the days local, national and international news. Strong writing skills are a must for this position. Working with a team in a positive manner is also a must for applicants. Overall, we're looking for a hard-working journalist with a positive attitude and a team-oriented, leadership nature who can help us tell impactful stories here in Myrtle Beach/Florence. There will likely be a role affiliated with our new CTV App that is scheduled for launch end of 2nd Quarter.

The News Producer produces daily newscast items, decides the order in which stories will be told, writes teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website.
Additional Job Description:
- Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
- Writes and orders news stories
- Approves scripts
- Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
- Edits video
- Applicant should be a “news consumer” – aware of news and the ability to know where to find news
- Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
- Takes an active role in assisting with new CTV App content
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
