The Newscast Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.
WIVB TV News 4 is searching for a Full Time Newscast Director. The ideal candidate will work well under pressure and stay cool when things become challenging.
- Execute daily activities of broadcast operations unit, with a focus on Live News Production.
- Works with the news producers to deliver a clean newscast.
- Follow station policies and procedures in operating broadcast audio and video equipment: record and playout news programming, control audio, video, graphics and execute newscasts.
- Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment, managing multiple tasks on strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of Grass Valley Ignite news automation system, ROSS Xpression graphics system, ENPS, and Vitec robotic cameras puts you ahead of the curve.
- Hourly - $19.00 to $21.00
Requirements & Skills:
- Degree in Communications or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production, and engineering staff.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Experience in television, film, or postproduction preferred but not required.
- Basic computer knowledge, Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365.
- Detail oriented.
