  • Continuing Coverage: Track ongoing local issues, identify new developments, and provide meaningful context to complex stories.
  • Community Engagement: Represent FOX 29 professionally to foster trust and build strong, lasting relationships across the Philadelphia community.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional writing, researching, and on-air news reporting experience, preferably covering major news events in a Top 50 or medium-to-large market.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, or a related field preferred.
  • Live & On-Air Excellence: Exceptional live field-reporting skills, polished on-air and anchoring presence, and outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Editorial Judgment: Strong knowledge of current events, local issues, and a passion for owning your stories from concept to broadcast.
  • Flexibility: A collaborative team player willing to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, fill-in anchor shifts, and dynamic field schedules as breaking news demands.
