Requirements:
- Current college student or recent graduate.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite is a plus (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week (unpaid).
- Enthusiasm to learn and a positive attitude.
- Desire to work on a team.
- Self-starter with proactive mindset.
News interns will spend their time shadowing and gaining experience in the following departments:
News
- Planning, organizing, editing, and reviewing materials for publication.
- Suggesting ideas for headlines.
- Assisting in research and verifying facts.
- Utilize social media platforms to promote stories.
- Collaborate with other reporters and staff.
- Participate in editorial meetings and contribute ideas.
Creative Services
- May assist in commercial shoots.
- May also assist in editing commercials.
Digital
- Learn about the digital advertising opportunities.
- May assist in creating digital ads.
