The Role:
Join Toyota Material Handling North America as a New Product Manufacturing Engineer and help shape the future of electrified powertrains, hydrogen fuel cell systems, and advanced energy storage technologies.
In this hands-on engineering role, you'll develop and industrialize innovative manufacturing processes that bring next-generation products from concept to production. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and operations, you'll evaluate emerging technologies, develop scalable manufacturing solutions, and drive successful product launches. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop, optimize, and industrialize manufacturing processes for new products from concept through production launch.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA), manufacturing feasibility studies, process capability development, and production validation.
- Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies, including laser welding, precision joining, automation, and advanced assembly processes.
- Lead capital equipment projects, including equipment specifications, Statements of Work (SOWs), supplier selection, commissioning, validation, and launch.
- Design manufacturing concepts, tooling, fixtures, automation, inspection methods, and process controls that support scalable production.
- Apply engineering methodologies including DOE, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and statistical analysis to build robust manufacturing processes.
- Partner with engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, and suppliers to successfully launch new products and resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Research and implement innovative manufacturing technologies that improve quality, cost, scalability, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Travel: Approximately 20%.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Welding Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, manufacturing process development, or new product industrialization.
- Experience supporting prototype, pilot, and production manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success developing manufacturing processes from concept through production launch.
- Experience leading capital equipment projects, automation initiatives, or custom manufacturing equipment development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Passion for continuous improvement, manufacturing innovation, and developing scalable production solutions.
What Sets You Apart:
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience developing manufacturing processes for battery systems, hydrogen fuel cells, or other advanced energy technologies.
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or other high-volume advanced manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on expertise with laser welding, advanced joining technologies, precision manufacturing, or non-destructive evaluation.
- Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DOE, SPC, GD&T, MSA, and statistical analysis.
- Collaborative technical leadership with a hands-on approach to solving complex manufacturing challenges.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Salary - $133,600 - $171,290 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.
