We are looking for a Neuroscience Lead to drive our research and development efforts, ensuring that our BCI technology remains at the cutting edge of scientific innovation.
About the RoleAs the Neuroscience Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping the development of our neurotechnology. You will be responsible for leading our neuroscience research team, optimizing our BCI algorithms, and collaborating with hardware and software engineers to integrate neural data into our product. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and designers to refine our EEG-based BCI technology and ensure its effectiveness in real-world applications.
This position is hybrid, and the candidate must be based in Berlin.
ResponsibilitiesLead the neuroscience research and development efforts at BROADMIND.
Develop and optimize EEG signal processing algorithms for non-invasive BCI applications.
Design and execute experiments to improve neural signal acquisition, feature extraction, and classification.
Work closely with engineers to integrate neural data into software and hardware systems.
Ensure the scientific validity of our BCI technology through rigorous research, testing, and validation.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in neurotechnology, computational neuroscience, and machine learning for BCI.
Collaborate with academic and industry partners on research initiatives and publications.
Supervise and mentor junior neuroscientists and research assistants.
Contribute to regulatory compliance and ethical considerations in neurotechnology development.
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, or a related field.
Expertise in EEG-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), neural signal processing, and machine learning applications in neuroscience.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++ for signal processing and data analysis.
Experience with EEG hardware, including data acquisition, pre-processing, and feature extraction.
Strong background in statistical methods, time-frequency analysis, and classification techniques for neural signals.
Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their applications in neuroscience is a plus.
Experience designing and conducting human-subject experiments for BCI applications.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for neurotechnology and medical devices (e.g., FDA, CE).
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to evolving challenges.
Previous experience in a leadership or senior research role in a neurotechnology or BCI-focused company.
Strong publication record in peer-reviewed neuroscience or neuroengineering journals.
Experience working with hybrid BCIs (e.g., EEG + EMG, EEG + eye tracking).
Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time neural signal processing.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and UX designers.
