Join our Network/Telecom Engineering team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to global science and healthcare. As a Network/Telecom Engineer III, you'll help design, implement, and maintain our global network infrastructure that enables research and innovation. Working with current technologies, you'll collaborate with technical SMEs and vendors to optimize network performance, enhance security, and drive automation initiatives. This role offers opportunities to work on enterprise-scale projects while developing your expertise across routing, switching, security, cloud connectivity, and unified communications platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering in large-scale environments
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
• Industry certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE Security are highly desirable
• Expert knowledge of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and QoS
• Strong experience with enterprise networking equipment from vendors like Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, F5
• Proven expertise in SD-WAN deployment, management and troubleshooting
• Experience with cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure environments
• Knowledge of unified communications platforms including Microsoft Teams Voice, Avaya, and SIP
• Proficiency with network automation using Python, APIs, or similar tools
• Experience with network monitoring, security, and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and ServiceNow
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Availability for on-call rotation and travel as needed
• Experience supporting team members preferred
• Project management skills and vendor relationship management experience
