We are seeking a seasoned Network Systems and Solutions Engineer with working in complex IT environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft and Cisco technologies, with proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. You will play a key role in developing scalable, secure, and high-performing network and systems solutions to support enterprise operations and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Architect, deploy, and maintain secure and resilient network and systems infrastructure across on-premises datacenters and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, Microsoft 365).
- Design and configure advanced routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless systems using Cisco technologies.
Cloud & Hybrid Systems Engineering
- Integrate and manage hybrid infrastructure using Microsoft technologies such as Azure AD, Azure Networking, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- Support cloud migrations and the implementation of cloud-native networking and security architectures.
Systems Administration
- Manage Microsoft infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
- Oversee and support virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware), backup solutions, and disaster recovery processes.
Monitoring, Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Monitor system and network performance, proactively address issues, and optimize for high availability and performance.
- Use tools like Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, or Microsoft System Center for performance and fault monitoring.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and manage security controls across networks and systems including firewalls, identity management, and access controls.
- Ensure infrastructure aligns with organizational compliance and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, HIPAA, etc.).
Documentation & Project Delivery
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for systems configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–10 years in a systems/network engineering role with strong experience in both Microsoft and Cisco ecosystems
Certifications (preferred but not required):
- Microsoft: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or legacy MCSE
- Cisco: CCNP (Enterprise/Security) or CCNA with relevant experience
- ITIL Foundation or other service management certifications is a plus
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Technologies:
- Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online
- Azure networking (NSGs, VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Load Balancers)
Cisco Technologies:
- Routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), Cisco ASA/Firepower, Cisco ISE
- Experience with Cisco Meraki, SD-WAN, and wireless infrastructure.
Networking & Security:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and VPNs
- Firewall management, segmentation, and security hardening best practices.
Cloud & Virtualization:
- Experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS/SaaS environments and hybrid cloud integration
- Virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V)
Automation & Scripting:
- PowerShell, CLI, or other scripting tools for system automation and configuration management
