Everforth ECS is seeking a Network System Administrator to work onsite in our Wiesbaden, Germany (OCONUS) office.
We are seeking a highly motivated and mission-focused Network System Administrator (OCONUS) to support operations in Wiesbaden, Germany. This position is responsible for deploying and sustaining secure network capabilities in support of operational requirements, including the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise and tactical network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with end-users and technical teams to ensure reliable connectivity across classified and unclassified environments while supporting system integration, network design, documentation, and onsite operational readiness. This role requires a hands-on professional capable of operating effectively in dynamic environments and maintaining mission-critical communications at the tactical edge.
The Network System Administrator (OCONUS) performs the following core activities:
- Deploys onsite to support new installations and continuous operations.
- Liaises with operational end-users to determine their requirements.
- Collaboratively defines the end state for how and where equipment and personnel will be utilized.
- Installs, configures, and maintains network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and identity service engines.
- Supports classified and unclassified networks in compliance with applicable security policies.
- Maintains documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and change management records.
- Participates in network design and capacity planning to meet mission requirements.
- Tests, fields, and maintains equipment (hardware/software) and personnel to/at operational sites.
- Ensures network connectivity is established and maintained onsite.
- Confirms remote access and functionality at the tactical edge.
The Network System Administrator (OCONUS) assists with the design, installation, and continuous operation of infrastructure and operational environments, to include, but not limited to:
- Gathering and implementing requirements.
- Assessing current infrastructure, including power/cooling and network requirements for successful integration.
- Obtaining and configuring Internet Protocols and networks.
- Building connectivity, and troubleshooting connectivity issues, between users and systems.
- Testing and troubleshooting LAN/VLAN configurations.
- Racking, mounting, and maintaining hardware.
- Upgrading and patching hardware and software.
- Providing Tier II support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Escalating and communicating status and/or issues to internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Education/Experience accepted:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of recent specialized experience; OR
- Associate's degree with 7+ years of recent specialized experience; OR
- A major certification, with 7+ years of recent specialized experience; OR
- 11+ years of recent specialized experience.
- Minimum DoD Top Secret security clearance required to apply with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI indoctrination (TS/SCI).
- Must have (and continue to maintain) a current, approved DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher preferred). Additional certifications may also be required, depending on assignment.
- Technically adept, with the ability to support common IT issues and activities.
- Hands-on experience with, and administration of, a U.S. Government system. Knowledge of, and experience with, various software systems and architectures, communications protocols, and network hardware devices.
- 3+ years of network administration experience.
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.).
- Current Cisco IOS software and hardware features.
- Hardware vendors involved in the incident resolution process.
- Multicast and GRE Routing.
- Virtualization technologies as they apply to networking (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft).
- Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) patching, compliance, and related security activities.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft O365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
