About the role:
As the Network Strategy Director, you will develop and maintain a capacity driven network strategy, to evolve the understanding of network performance across multiple measures and ensure the overall network is optimized for supply reliability, flexibility, and economic performance. You will report to the Head of Strategic Planning.
How you will contribute:
- Drive analytics to support product portfolio rationalization, network economic assessments, cost of goods evolution and evaluation.
- Partner with Finance team for financial analyses that support strategic capacity investments and other decision analytics to support product portfolio ensure it is integrated into network strategy.
- Assess network economics, support sourcing decision/options analysis to support proposals.
- Launch the Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS) long range capacity planning process to identify and mitigate capacity shortages or overcapacities across the network and co-ordinate with Capex strategy to provide a balanced investment in capacity where required.
- Collaborate to agree on a long range Statement of Capacity that is endorsed by the business and meets budget expectations.
- Partner with the site leadership teams and business functions to reflect the manufacturing capacity and critical assumptions supporting the capacity statement and both Capex and Operational Excellence projects that impact site capacities and changes to capacities.
- Work with external manufacturing to understand capacity in outsourced manufacturing network.
- Evolve understanding of network performance through the use of network analytics in partnership with relevant partners. Pursue identification of optimization opportunities.
- Lead Annual Strategy Refresh Process and workshops to identify the Network Strategy studies.
- Develop Network Strategy presentations and align and build recommendations partnering with different functions and Operating Units.
- Help develop and implement the Network Strategy Management Infrastructure such as Scenario planning, LRCP Model, Financial Planning, and Cost Curves.
- Support the change management and training related to the deployment of the management infrastructure
- Summarize risk at the Site and Network level including risk identification, quantification, mitigation and monitoring and develop comprehensive analyses, plans and risk assessments to support business needs and multi-functional demands.
- Partner with technology teams to find opportunities to increase tools used on the job to improve the effectiveness and results.
What you bring to Takeda:
- B.S. in engineering or biological sciences/pharmacy.
- 10+ years experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or associated industry required with prior financial analysis responsibility.
- Familiar with relevant biotech/pharmaceutical technologies and aware of developing manufacturing technologies and their application in supply networks.
- Demonstrated application of planning skills is critical.
- Previous experience in directly working with cross functional teams at a plant or corporate support function level, with direct and regular interaction across departments
- Prior experience developing and executing multi-site plans, change management capability, and interaction with Supply Chain functions, Commercial Franchise and/or Country management would be ideal.
