Overview:

Join our network support team in providing Global network solutions. You will be part of the R&D infrastructure, analysing data and providing support on a broad range of network elements. As a Specialist you will also contribute to the overall excellence within the Data Centre, Work station and Isolated Networking.

Please note this role is hybrid based, working from our Kanata office 3-4 days per week

Due to working model, the working hours can be flexible between 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining R&D infrastructure, spanning across IPV4 and 6 Network

• Collaboratively working in vCenter and ESX, Hyper-v, Storage 3PAR, Dell Unity Storage, Procurement and exposure to Jira.

• Performing daily system tasks (review of logs, monitoring, backups etc.)

• Administration of VMWare infrastructure in data centers across the globe

• Perform general system administration tasks such as OS and application upgrades, file system maintenance, etc

• Tracking ongoing VMware releases to plan for and schedule upgrades to the virtualization environment.

• Attending weekly and monthly Meetings as they pertain to Networking and Virtualization environment.

• Helping tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure and services.

• Sending reports on health and utilization of Networking and virtualization infrastructure.

• Asset Management used by R&D team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred; or high school diploma + relevant work experience.

• Experience with virtualization technologies & Networking Knowledge.

• Experience designing, managing, and administering complex networks.

• Experience with Core networking devices

• Ability to configure the Network switches(Arista) and resolve the network issues.

• Ability to handle day to day operations of a complex VMware environment.

• A passion for challenging, complex issues, and the drive to systematically resolve them so they never return.

• The desire to automate any process or task possible.

• The ability to build and provide reporting and status updates for a large virtualization infrastructure.

• Analyze end to end performance of a virtual environment providing solutions/recommendations for improvement.

• (Routers/Switches/Firewall etc)  with knowledge of BGP/OSPF & EIGRP.

• Experience with in-depth understanding of SIP Protocol and Telecom products.

• Experience with SAN storage technologies.
