This requirement is to support the Network Platform Operations team by providing an experienced Network Specialist who will be responsible for managing both the technical and operational aspects of network services, ensuring the successful delivery of day-to-day operational tasks, service requests, and project-related activities. The role will contribute to maintaining network stability, driving operational excellence, and supporting the effective delivery of business and technology outcomes.

High-level responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting Customer’s enterprise LAN and Wireless infrastructure, ensuring high availability and timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Working on planning, designing, and implementing the new network technologies.
  • Supporting minor infrastructure projects involving the deployment of network switches, wireless access points (WAPs) and creating site diagrams.
  • Working on LAN improvement initiatives to enhance network performance, resilience, and user experience.
  • Reviewing and approving IT Networking Technology and Operations requests and changes.
  • Working closely with project teams to review LLDs (Low-Level Designs), assess network impacts, and validate changes prior to deployment.
  • Firmware up-gradations activities whenever replacing faulty devices with new to match customer recommended firmware version.
  • Working with the Automation team to streamline LAN operational processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Administering and troubleshooting Cisco ISE for network access control, authentication, and policy management.
  • Monitoring network performance, availability, and operational health across production environments.
  • Ensure network availability, performance, capacity, and security requirements are consistently met.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and network configurations.
  • Participate in major incident management, and outage resolution activities as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and advisory support to operational and project teams on network-related matters.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance network reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, change management processes, and industry best practices.

Essential:

  • A thorough understanding of networking technologies.
  • Experience with common network technologies; MPLS, BGP, IPSec, NAT, OSPF, HSRP, VRFs, STP,  etc 
  • Experience with Cisco controller based networks and management tools eg SD Access, SD WAN, Catalyst Center etc 
  • Experience with Cisco routing/switching platforms including Catalyst / Nexus 9k switches, ISR, ASR, Catalyst and IR series outers 
  • Specialist LAN, WAN & Cloud technologies; Cisco Fabric, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, SD-WAN, Amazon AWS & Microsoft Azure 
  •  Experience in network monitoring / management systems – Solarwinds Orion, Cisco DNA/Catalyst Center 
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in management of large enterprise customers Network environment
  • An individual contributor capable of self-directed work showing strong leadership and client relationship skills and who is focused on driving the complete Network project or Operations.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with designers, architects, Operations team, field technicians and external vendors.
  • Well organized and able to do multi-tasking, problem solving, troubleshooting techniques and strategic thinking.

  • Capability to work with people in different time zones
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment and appropriately prioritize tasks, and keep abreast of the latest technology.
  • Analytical skills to interpret IT user requests and understand end user requirements.
  • Service Delivery tasks like, reporting, SLA management etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Technology and/or specific certifications in Cisco and Palo Alto technology (Advanced, Professional, Expert level)
