Job requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a network security or cybersecurity role, preferably in a data center or high-availability environment.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies such as Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Certifications 

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security or CCNP Security
  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Other important requirements:  

  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies. 
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.

Job responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure network infrastructure for Offices, Data Centers, and cloud solutions, ensuring secure communications between systems and customers.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to network security incidents using SIEM tools, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS), and other monitoring technologies.
  • Manage and maintain ACL’s for AWS, Tailscale, or other ACL based infrastructure. 
  • Manage firewalls and VPNs, including rule set maintenance, patching, and policy enforcement.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests; mitigate identified risks and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain and update network security configurations and documentation; enforce best practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and client service teams, to align security requirements with business operations.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to proactively protect company and customer assets.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and incident response plans.
  • Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Enforce 2FA authentication practices for access to high security systems
