Description
Zhone Technologies Vietnam is seeking Network Quality Assurance Trainees to join the Zhone Engineering Academy program. This role is designed for early-career engineers who are passionate about software quality assurance and networking technologies.
As a trainee, you will receive structured training and hands-on project experience to develop the skills required for testing and validating telecom and network access products such as GPON OLT, CPE, and EMS platforms.
Successful trainees will have the opportunity to be evaluated for full-time Network QA Engineer positions upon program completion.
Key Responsibilities
Learning & Product Understanding
- Learn basic networking protocols and telecom technology features.
- Learn broadband network products including OLTs, ONTs, and EMS.
- Learn basic test automation concepts and scripting fundamentals.
Testing & Validation
- Execute assigned test cases and document results during the product validation cycle.
- Assist in reproducing field-reported issues in the lab environment.
- Verify defect fixes once they are implemented by the R&D team.
Collaboration & Engineering Practices
- Work closely with Development, Hardware, and Field Support teams.
- Follow QA practices including test case documentation, defect reporting, and issue tracking.
- Escalate blocking issues to the test leader in a timely manner.
Training Scope
Trainees will receive structured training in:
- Networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, and L2/L3 switching.
- Broadband technologies including GPON and XGSPON
- Basic test automation and Python scripting.
- Defect tracking, reporting workflows, and releasing recommendation practices.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student) in Telecom/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.
- 0–2 years of experience or equivalent academic/project experience.
- Good English reading comprehension and basic communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of networking, TCP/IP, and L2/L3 switching.
- Basic knowledge of Linux system and virtual machines such as VirtualBox or VMware.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python is a plus).
- Proficiency in MS Office productivity tools.
- Networking certifications such as CCNA or LPI are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong willingness to learn QA processes and networking technologies.
- Problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter and team player with a goal-oriented mindset.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Skills Required
