DigMod is currently looking for a Network Operations Specialist II to support the Network and Cabling Infrastructure (NetCI) Program for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance enterprise network services throughout the Hampton Roads region. The Network Operations Specialist provides operational support for the Joint Staff JPH network environment at the Suffolk site. The role performs network monitoring, incident response, endpoint connectivity troubleshooting, and ticket management while assisting with identity-based network access control functions. This role supports daily network operations and assists the X001 Section Lead in maintaining operational continuity across the Suffolk network infrastructure.
Network Monitoring and Incident Response
Monitor network infrastructure and respond to alerts, alarms, and operational incidents.
Perform troubleshooting of network connectivity issues and escalate complex incidents to engineering teams.
Endpoint Compliance and Network Access Control
Support Comply-to-Connect (C2C) 3.1/3.2 endpoint profiling activities.
Assist with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) administration and endpoint compliance troubleshooting.
Service Management
Manage ServiceNow tickets including incident documentation, troubleshooting updates, and resolution tracking.
Maintain operational ticket responsiveness and documentation standards.
Operational Support
Provide endpoint connectivity troubleshooting and network infrastructure support.
Support firmware updates, configuration verification, and STIG compliance validation.
Assist with operational maintenance activities within assigned scope.
Operational Coordination
Participate in Government operational meetings and provide status updates on assigned work.
Coordinate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams when required.
Required Qualifications
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification required (DoD 8570 IAT II).
No degree required for this labor category; relevant experience documentation required.
Cisco networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and enterprise ticketing systems.
Experience with Cisco ISE or network access control systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ServiceNow preferred.
Knowledge and experience with VoIP/VTC collaboration systems
Knowledge and experience with Multicast and GRE Routing
Knowledge and experience with data center networking
Experience with firewalls and firewall rule sets
Understanding of network virtualization
