Job Description
Brightspeed is searching for a Network Operations Project Manager to join our team! As a Network Operations Project Manager (911), you will be responsible for critical tasks related to the FCC’s annual 911 audit. The focus is on ensuring the accuracy of record fields, managing diversity group designations, and accurately reflecting the status of circuits during the transition to Next Generation 911. Additionally, it includes verifying changes in selective routers, ensuring proper profile types based on Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP), and ensuring that FCC names and designations align with the national database. Proper documentation of the Last Serving Office is also emphasized following the NG911 conversion.
As a Network Operations Project Manager (911), your duties will include but not limited to:
- Project Management of NextGen 911 Migrations (Phase 1 & Phase 2)
- Perform research within network equipment and databases for data accuracy
- Working with cross functional teams (Translations, Network Planning, Field Services, ETC) to identify and resolve issues
- Advanced fault analysis and network troubleshooting experience of call routing, ALI links, ES & EM trunking, and associated call processing touches
- Monitor Health of ALI servers, troubleshoot ALI failures, update configurations on ALI Routers and Servers, activating/deactivating ALI Links
- Update ALI Links to New Design
- Trouble ticket generation and response; customer interface and escalations
- Respond to PSAP inquiries and trouble cases in a timely and professional manner
- Responsible and accountable for integrity of PSAP Profile database, ensuring accuracy as required for FCC annual 911 audit. Includes but not limited to research, data analysis, proactive and reactive data cleanup and identification of systemic opportunities to improve database integrity
- Accurate record maintenance is crucial for compliance with the FCC’s annual 911 audit
- Diversity group designations play a significant role in the audit process
- Understanding the status of circuits (active or inactive) is essential during transitions to Next Generation 911
- Changes in selective routers must be documented accurately to ensure proper service continuity.
- Alignment of PSAP types and names with the FCC National Database is necessary for audit readiness
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work or military experience), minimum of one year working knowledge with 911 network background a plus
- Must have experience with hardware and software circuit switch configurations in the Nortel DMS 100 or ECS1000 switches
- Demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal relationship, and decision-making skills
- Able to understand, interpret, relay, and conduct technical network discussions including root cause analysis
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers and customers
- Must be willing to respond to 24x7 coverage, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation
- Excellent analytical problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail
- Clear understanding of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)
- Clear understanding of 911 network – END to END
- TIRKS, OTTO-Lite experience a plus
