Business Title: Network Operations Engineer

What you will do:
Under the guidance of the TOC shift lead, the Network Operations Engineer will be focused on monitoring the organization’s global network infrastructure and providing 1st/2nd line network support.
You will review, triage and troubleshoot incident and service request tickets assigned to the network support team, collaborating with Infrastructure, Operations, and Delivery teams and external partners as necessary, and escalating to senior engineers for issues requiring further support, whilst ensuring diagnostic information is accurately communicated to ensure swift resolution against defined SLAs and targets.
How you will do it:
- Network Monitoring - Proactive monitoring and timely response to alerts, to avoid service outages or limit their impact.
- Incident Management - Identify and investigate problems to determine root causes, enabling customers to resume operations quickly.
- Service Requests - Executing low level service requests.
- Documentation - Maintain and update incident reports, shift handovers, and troubleshooting documentation, ensuring knowledge transfer between shifts.
What we look for:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a NOC environment or network operations.
- Good understanding of networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, protocols, etc)
- Knowledge routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc).
- Knowledge of Firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc) is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable but not essential.
- Certification to CCNA level or equivalent would be desirable.
- Experience working in an ITIL orientated environment is desirable but not essential.
