The Network Operations Engineer III will be joining as a key member of our "Follow the sun" Network Operations Control Center (NOCC) team, providing crucial support for CME's network infrastructure; through monitoring, troubleshooting and change implementation using Industry Standard, Best Practices.
The Network Operations Engineer III will ensure the ongoing operation of service to end users & customers by ensuring that service is operated within agreed service levels, and in alignment to agreed policies, processes, and standards. The role will be key to ensuring the overall platform stability and its sustained delivery to clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Acts as first responders, helping to organize and control incident response.
Day to day monitoring and management of our platforms to ensure that internal SLAs, operational KPIs and quality standards are met
Handling complex technical support issues
Review and Implementation of changes in all of our controlled environments
Ability to support network faults, to conclusion in a multi vendor, multi-appliance infrastructure
Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents and service requests
Day-to-day Technical Operations activities (including, but not limited to network and firewall troubleshooting, scripting changes, infrastructure and firmware updates)
Maintain a positive attitude and a high level of customer service at all times
Help with the technical development and guidance of junior engineers
Contribute to the overall development of the operational systems and processes
Maintain accurate troubleshooting records through industry standard ticketing systems
Writing technical SOP’s and other documentation.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
Extensive experience in a fast paced, enterprise NOC role (minimum 2nd or 3rd line experience)
In-depth support experience of LAN & WAN technologies:
R/S: OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, Layer 2 architectures
Exposure to firewalls, and load balancing with an understanding of:
Security Posture: Firewalling, ACLs, industry best practice, Internet architectures
Load Balancing: F5 LB, iRules, persistence, etc.
VPN: IPSec and SSL
Understanding of Wireless technologies:
Understanding/experience with ISO and ITIL standards
Experience Supporting or Working with Cloud Technologies
Desirable:
Enterprise R&S certification (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
Enterprise Firewall Certification (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
Enterprise Wireless Certification (Aruba, Meraki, etc.)
Cloud Certification - GCP (Preferable) / AWS / Azure Certification
Toolset Management experience (Solarwinds, or similar)
WCA (Wireshark Certified) - or experience with hardware based packet capture systems.
Multicast: PIM-SM, MSDP, AnyCastRP
This role supports the U.S. shift: Tuesday - Saturday: 12:00pm - 8:30pm CDT. Please note, the schedule is potentially subject to change.
