This position is for Network Engineering Administrator for Naval Network Information Center (NNIC) Liaison of the C5I Requirements Directorate (N6), supporting the Programs (N66) Division, at the Navy Information Dominance Forces (NAVIFOR) Headquarters.
The Naval Circuit Management Office (NCMO) develops and manages the strategies for the Department of the Navy's portion of DISA issued IPs, Including lifecycle management and provisioning under the Department of the Navy (DON).
This is a temporary assignment and expected to last 9 months.
This Network Engineering Administrator position is located on the Department of Defense Suffolk Complex, Suffolk, Virginia.
- Execute comprehensive lifecycle management and provisioning of over 20 million globally unique Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to support Department of Navy operations.
- Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the NNIC Site, maintaining deep proficiency in all available tools and performing comprehensive user account management.
- Maintain precise inventory of all NNIC IP addresses. Gather, register, and import existing Naval IP data into the database, reviewing statuses to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Evaluate remaining IP space and forecast capacity requirements for upcoming large-scale customer projects to proactively conserve available address space.
- Act as the primary Approving Official (AO) for the DODNIC to coordinate, validate, and administer IP data at the broader Department of Defense level.
- Process incoming IP requests from operational commands across the fleet (averaging ~50 requests monthly), and field stakeholder inquiries regarding IP provisioning.
- Identify IP allocation changes resulting from command relocations, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), or reorganizations to ensure unused IP space is reclaimed and transitioned.
- Assist in the agile development and testing of NNIC web applications, identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies to streamline provisioning and improve the customer experience.
- Develop, update, and manage critical lifecycle documentation, including Approving Official Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Database Administrator guides, and general User Guides.
- Manage the IP portfolio for Echelon II organizations, tracking assignments, utilizations, and ensuring accurate record-keeping across the enterprise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the NCMO Director to support the broader Naval Circuit Management Office mission.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
- COMPTIA SEC+ certificate
- Bachelor’s in information technology or in related field is preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Customer focused with a courteous demeaner and professional bearing.
- Possesses good communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Excel, and able to both organize/search complex data sets as well as explain outputs to leadership.
- Open to 0-10% Travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of subnetting.
Compensation Details:
US: $70,000 to $80,000
