Job Title: Network Engineer

Clearance Level: Secret, Must Have Clearance to Start
Required Certification(s): Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or CompTIA Cloud+ or, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), or GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Job Description

  • Operate and manage network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, and transmission media.
  • Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches.
  • Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software.
  • Monitor network capacity and performance.
  • Patch network vulnerabilities to safeguard information.
  • Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.
  • Implement and test network infrastructure contingency and recovery plans.
    Establish and maintain network security practices.
  • Analyze network traffic capacity and performance characteristics.
  • Develop and validate network security measures.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and changes.

Education and Background

  • BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, OR Software Engineering
  • OR

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • CompTIA Cloud+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

Skills Required

  • Active Secret security clearance (must have to start)
  • 4-8 years of network engineering experience
  • BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
  • One of the following certifications: CEH, CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Security+, GCIH, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP
  • WarU DCWF 441 Network Operations Specialist training or DISA (441) DCWF Network Operations Specialist or NEC 723B JCC
  • Hands-on experience operating and managing routers, switches, hubs, bridges, and servers
  • Experience with network backup/recovery, patching vulnerabilities, monitoring capacity/performance, and contingency planning
  • Ability to prepare and maintain network configuration and change documentation
