Who Are We Looking For?
Mobiz is hiring a Network Engineer to play a key role in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining client network infrastructure. The role focuses on Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Meraki, and Azure networking environments. This position is ideal for someone with strong foundational networking knowledge who is ready to grow in a managed services (MSP) environment and handle L1/L2 network operations.
Key Responsibilities
Network Support & Troubleshooting
- Resolve L1/L2 network support tickets related to connectivity issues, VPN failures, firewall access requests, routing/switching problems, and Wi-Fi issues.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support via phone, email, and remote access tools.
- Diagnose and resolve basic LAN/WAN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and IP-related issues.
- Troubleshoot VPN connectivity issues including site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
Network Monitoring & Operations
- Monitor network health, performance, and alerts using tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, Meraki Dashboard, Panorama, and FortiManager.
- Respond to alerts and perform initial investigation before escalation.
- Conduct routine checks on firewall status, VPN tunnels, and wireless networks.
Device & Firewall Support
- Assist in configuration and maintenance of Cisco routers and switches.
- Support Cisco Meraki devices (MX, MS, MR) for monitoring and basic configuration.
- Assist with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall policies, NAT rules, and security configurations.
- Perform basic firewall rule validation and access troubleshooting.
Azure Networking
- Support basic Azure networking tasks including VNet/subnet verification.
- Assist with NSG rule checks and troubleshooting.
- Support Azure VPN Gateway connectivity issues under guidance.
Incident & Change Management
- Follow SLA timelines for ticket resolution and prioritization.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with proper documentation and investigation notes.
- Support change requests, maintenance activities, and scheduled network updates.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate ticket documentation, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details.
- Update network diagrams, device inventories, and SOPs.
- Ensure proper knowledge sharing for recurring issues and resolutions.
Candidate Profile: Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in networking, IT support, or helpdesk roles (MSP experience preferred)
- CCNA certification
- PCNSA certification
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including:
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- VLANs and subnetting
- Routing and switching basics
- Basic understanding of firewall concepts including NAT, VPN, and security policies
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki Dashboard for monitoring and basic configuration
- Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Exposure to network monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, or similar
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on exposure to Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki MX/MS/MR environments
- Basic understanding of Azure networking components
- Experience working in an MSP or 24x7 support environment
- Exposure to network automation or scripting (optional advantage)
- Ability to work in escalation-based support model
