Position Overview
This role is critical in maintaining and supporting network infrastructure for our clients, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Fortinet technologies, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues
- Design and implement multi-ISP configurations with automatic failover for enterprise clients
- Collaborate with onsite field technicians to diagnose and resolve various network issues
- Manage and support Cisco Catalyst switches and Meraki switching infrastructure
- Administer and maintain Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls
- Utilize FortiManager and Panorama for centralized firewall management
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot FortiClient and GlobalProtect VPN solutions
- Implement and troubleshoot IPSec VPN connections and tunnels
- Deploy and support Meraki wireless networks
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts promptly
- Communicate daily with clients to provide updates, gather requirements, and resolve issues
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures
- Efficiently manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Provide remote support and guidance to field technicians during onsite implementations and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with team members to support infrastructure projects
- Ensure network compliance with security policies and best practices
- Provide technical support and escalation for network-related incidents
- 6+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Cisco Catalyst and Meraki switching platforms
- Proficient experience with Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls
- Working knowledge of FortiManager and Panorama
- Experience with FortiClient and GlobalProtect VPN implementation and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with IPSec VPN configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
- Proven experience setting up ISP connections with automatic failover for enterprise clients
- Experience with Meraki wireless solutions
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Great analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work efficiently and deliver results under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for daily client interactions
- Ability to effectively collaborate with and guide field technicians remotely
- Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network security
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience
- Cisco ASA firewall experience
- Microsoft Azure networking experience
- CCNA certification
- Fortinet NSE (Network Security Expert) certification
- ITIL Foundation certification
