Leidos has an immediate career opportunity for a Network Operations Engineer supporting the Air Force’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Operations Center at Cannon AFB, NM, with additional support to Hurlburt Field, FL as required. This role provides critical network engineering expertise to a high‑visibility, mission‑essential environment.
Candidates must and meet DoD 8570 certification requirements. A current CCNP Routing & Switching certification is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide full‑spectrum network engineering support including planning, design, evaluation, and optimization of network components supporting daily operations and mission systems
- Support network upgrades, installation activities, and lifecycle maintenance for the Air Force’s RPA Operations Center
- Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain Cisco‑based network infrastructure, long‑haul communication transport, and NSA Type‑1 encryption devices
- Utilize network test equipment to validate performance, identify issues, and ensure operational readiness
- Support C4ISR‑related mission systems and ensure network reliability for distributed operations
- Collaborate with Air Force and contractor personnel, delivering clear communication and exceptional customer support.
- Work independently in a fast‑paced operational environment and provide on‑site technical expertise
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline OR a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification with 4+ years of related experience. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Current Top Secret SCI Security Clearance.
- Current CCNP Routing & Switching certification (minimum requirement)
- Familiarity with:
- Cisco IOS
- IP routing protocols
- Long‑haul communication transport
- Network test equipment
- NSA Type‑1 encryption devices
- C4ISR experience supporting mission systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in team environments
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military experience
- Current Top Secret SCI Security Clearance
- Experience supporting UAV/RPA operations centers
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing virtualized network architectures
- Hands‑on experience with Type‑1 cryptographic equipment
- Experience configuring and managing the network components of the AFRL SecureView system
