The Multi-Domain Solutions Division at Leidos currently has openings for a Network Engineer to work in our Orlando, FL office.
Our team supports the Advanced Battle Management System’s (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) Network Manager program. In this mission we support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) to field and operate the ABMS Digital Infrastructure, which is foundational in creating a unified command-and-control infrastructure connecting/ integrating sensors, data streams, and weapon systems across all domains (air, land, sea, cyber, and space). This will ultimately allow U.S. forces from all services — as well as allies and partners — to sense, make sense and act upon a vast array of data and information faster than adversaries can detect and respond to.
Primary Responsibilities.
Provide Network Engineering support for the design, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and operation of an evolving network architecture.
Draft and review change plans as part of an engineering team for on-prem and cloud networking infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and cloud networking elements.
Diagnose system issues impacting operation and performance. Swiftly arrive at resolutions with minimal assistance.
Be a primary resource for a hybrid Juniper SDWAN deployment in a specialized and technically diverse team.
Serve as an escalation point for the network and security operation center (NSOC) regarding network issues and vendor/client onboarding.
Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and application developers to ensure seamless integration of network solutions. Brief stakeholders on prevalent efforts and roadblocks.
Participate in and contribute to cross-discipline training and mentoring efforts with fellow engineers.
Basic Qualifications.
BA/BS or equivalent experience and 10+ years or prior relevant experience or MS with 8+ years or prior relevant experience.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Experience with configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems and troubleshooting ISP connectivity issues (DIA and MPLS).
Strong experience with campus/enterprise network design, implementation, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of core Layer2/Layer3 network technologies and protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, ARP, DHCP, DNS, etc). Moderate understanding of service provider technology, protocols, and general troubleshooting (BGP, MPLS).
Experience with network automation methodologies and tools (Ansible, scripting, and coding)
Proficient in troubleshooting and fault isolation/resolution.
Demonstrated experience with network documentation and diagrams (Draw io, Visio).
Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes
Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD IAT Level II cert (Security+ CE, etc)
Preferred Qualifications.
Proficient with Juniper SDWAN
Juniper Certified or Cisco Certified (CCNP EI)
Proficient with network automation
Experience with general Linux administration.
Experience with some of the various virtualization technologies (VMWare, Proxmox, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
IAT Level III Certified
