- Under the supervision and guidance of a more senior network engineer, participate in the day-to-day systems and network administration/management activities;
- Identify problems and participate in problem management resolution by collecting and tracking data and progress;
- Identify and propose system modifications in order to reduce user problems on networks, systems, applications, or a combination thereof;
- Update existing training packages for internal use and problem management procedures for existing products/services;
- Participate in the review of problem situations and identification of opportunities for improvement to processes, procedures or tools;
- Acquire technical and product knowledge to resolve problems.
- Participate in troubleshooting and monitoring of the network infrastructure and respond to exceptions by initiating the corrective actions to meet the highest availability targets;
- Communicate with network providers to escalate and follow-up issues;
- Make suggestions on improvements and participate in implementation of approved improvements throughout the network architecture.
- University degree in IT / Engineering or equivalent
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar position in a comparable technical environment
- Excellent English communication skills
- Excellent analytical and assessment skills
- Professional knowledge and expertise
- Cisco knowledge is a must
- Juniper experience, basic UNIX and Scripting knowledge are an asset
- CCNA, CCNP and Juniper certifications are an asset
