Description

As a Sr Network Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing the Qualys global network infrastructure.  As an award-winning public SaaS Company, we want to build a high-performing team to meet our growth challenges and do so consistently and excellently. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for working on new and existing network-related operations and projects with key business groups and teams to perform key improvements over the longer term.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operates and administers network management and security monitoring systems along with voice products and network application systems
• Identification and resolution of hardware, software, or architectural issues in any of the corporate networks supporting all Qualys sites and employees.
• Analyzing systems errors or anomalies, as well as specific network performance issues and/or error messages, to ensure maximum uptime and service quality
• Troubleshooting, in conjunction with Operations, Engineering, and QA teams, Web, API, and other system issues at a per-packet level via packet trace and sniffer analysis.
• Prepares and conducts technical briefings, training sessions, policy development, in-depth technical studies, and development of plans and specifications
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN systems to design and install IP networks.
• Designs and implements network solutions. Provides technical support to internal staff
• Handles technical issues and incidents through hands-on troubleshooting
• Liaise with customers, vendors, and other personnel for problem resolution
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

• 7-10 years of work experience in the design, implementation, and support of Cisco Call Manager/Unified Communications and related voice applications.
• Experience with VMWare Linux and integrating multiple voice platforms/architectures.
• Experience implementing technical standards, policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with tech and non-tech team users.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot emerging IP-based VoIP and Conferencing
• Knowledge of network systems – switching, routing, 802.1x, RADIUS and TACACS
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless LAN controllers
• Knowledge about Change management and Change ownership
• Create and maintain network documentation, including technical drawings and Network inventory

Nice to Have:

• Experience with multi-site routing, peering, and disaster recovery network architectures is considered a plus
• Formal hardware training and/or certifications from one or more of the following vendors: Cisco Systems (CCNA, CCNP), Juniper Networks (JNCIA, JNCIS)
• Previous experience managing SaaS, e-commerce websites, and/or on-demand services

Annual Salary Guidelines: $115,000 - $145,000 [For Foster City, CA Location]
