Position Overview

The Network Engineer role is responsible for the successful design and implementation of the end-to-end solution and will concentrate on the support and growth of existing and new business and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technical lifecycle of a project from sales handover to commissioned service for all verticals.

  • Ensure beams/options files are loaded on remotes as defined by the standards.

  • Responsible for all remote site work in a region (excluding Field Engineering, but does support).

  • Provide engineering design, configuration, testing, and implementation of end-to-end solutions.

  • Support and growth of existing and new business.

  • Implement Speedcast standards at remote sites.

  • Ensure adherence to delivery schedules and technical specification, and that the specification is ‘fit for purpose’.

  • Provide Pre-Sales Engineering support / Technical design.

  • Maintain the accuracy of documentation and ServiceNow whenever remote site work is completed.

  • Commission VSAT / WAN connectivity.

  • Troubleshoot and rectify remote site issues including interference and ASI.

  • Create and manage Technical Support information for delivered solutions.

  • Provide Level-4 escalation support.

  • Configure monitoring tools for client services.

  • Provide cyber security management at remote sites.

  • Support operational groups (Tools, Support, Voice, Growth Engineering, Capacity, Teleport, Platform, Terrestrial).

  • Design and successfully deliver bespoke end-to-end client services.

  • Provide support as required, outside of normal business hours and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

  • Travel as needed in support of projects at remote site locations.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background with VSAT Antennas and technologies (such as iDirect, Newtec, SCPC and UHP)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Satellite theory, as well as Terrestrial Networking, general IP and voice

  • Good fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP and Networking concepts

  • Familiar with SD-WAN solutions, Versa preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written are key for this role.

  • Proven hands-on problem solver showing Initiative, dedication, and ability to work as a Team player.

  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams throughout the project life cycle.

  • Possess a drive to succeed with a willingness to expand knowledge and experience.

  • Ability to prioritise, manage time, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred experience and skills:

  • Computer Science/Electronics / Telecom Degree or suitable HND with relevant experience.

  • Full Cisco background, ideally with VOIP and MPLS experience.

  • Cisco training and/or certification

  • Satellite / VSAT training and qualifications (such as GVF and vendor product training).
