WhiteSky is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our NOC team. This role will be responsible for providing advanced technical troubleshooting assistance for our technology products and broadband services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advanced support to end users, specializing in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to 802.11 wireless networks.
  • Mentor and assist junior support members, fostering their growth and proficiency in network support.
  • Execute site surveys, equipment selection, RF planning, and capacity analysis to optimize network performance.
  • Formulate and implement effective strategies for promptly resolving network issues, ensuring minimal downtime for end users.
  • Develop comprehensive network system documentation and instructional materials to facilitate efficient troubleshooting.
  • Analyze customer requirements, identify system interdependencies, and address support-related challenges.
  • Design and deploy wireless infrastructure components, actively participating in the configuration and optimization process.
  • Evaluate and recommend new wireless technologies, tools, and methodologies, staying abreast of industry advancements to enhance support capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of wireless solutions and resolve complex network issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior support staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • More than five years of experience in a NOC, ISP, MSP, or Network Helpdesk environment.
  • More than three years of hands-on experience administering large (10,000 AP) 802.11 wireless networks.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends to perform maintenance activities and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Demonstrated organizational, verbal, and written communication excellence, with exceptional interpersonal skills and great attention to detail.
  • Associate-level proficiency in Layer-3 protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP.
  • Expertise in Layer-2 network technologies, including Ethernet IEEE standards (802.3xx), and 802.1q VLAN tagging, GPON.
  • Required Active CCNA or JNCIA level certifications.
  • Required Active CWNA certification.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Prefer professional level certifications CCNP.
  • Prefer additional CWNP certifications - CWAP or CWDP.
  • Practical experience with Python or Ansible for network automation.
  • Understanding of video systems with both IP and RF distribution.
  • Prefer experience with Mikrotik RouterOS.
  • Experience with Ekahau's suite of tools.
  • Prefer experience with Ruckus and Juniper Mist Wireless Equipment.
