What You Will Do
Architectural Vision and Leadership: Lead the development and deployment of advanced network architectures, ensuring alignment with Gensler’s strategic goals and business objectives
Strategic Network Planning: Formulate and drive comprehensive network strategies, focusing on scalability, resilience, and future growth
Emerging Technologies: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in networking to recommend improvements and innovations.
Performance and Optimization: Oversee continuous network performance evaluations, implementing enhancements to maintain optimal performance, reliability, and availability
Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce rigorous security protocols and compliance standards, safeguarding Gensler’s network infrastructure
Technical Design Delivery: Produce high-quality architecture artifacts, including high-level designs, detailed roadmaps, and thorough test plans
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with various technical and business teams, translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions
Technical Leadership: Mentor, support and train network team members in day-to-day activities. Partner with Director of Infrastructure in outlining strategic direction and discovery of new technologies.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in building and maintaining Global network platforms
Proficiency with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.) to improve network efficiency and reliability.
Ability to integrate cloud networking components such as VNets, VWan, Peering, Gateways, and security groups.
Understanding of network services TCP/IP, UDP, DNS and DHCP.
Strong knowledge of Layer 3 technologies IP, ARP, IPSec, SVI's, HSRP, and BGP.
Strong knowledge of Layer 2 technologies STP, LACP, CDP, VTP, port channels, PoE.
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and provide root cause analysis.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work on projects simultaneously and balance conflicting demands.
Excellent understanding of computer, security, network and storage systems.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
Manage and adhere to change control processes to ensure proper implementation and minimize disruptions.
Understanding of the ITIL process.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
United States citizenship for government project administration.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and SDWAN.
Proficiency with wireless technologies
Proficiency with network authentication, authorization, and security policies.
Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Strong knowledge of security best practices as they overlap with areas of responsibility
Private, Public, and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructures such as AWS, Azure platforms
Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible and Terraform a plus
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
Vendor experience with Dell, HPE, Palo Alto, Cisco and Aruba.
Software experience with NetBox, Cacti, Solarwinds, Catalyst Center, Panorama, Aruba Central
Previous server administration experience a plus.

**If this position is based in Oakland, the base salary is estimated to be between $160k-$180k plus bonuses and benefits and continent on relevant experience.
