Job Title: Network Engineer

Reports to:Network Engineering Manager

Location: Remotre

Days / Hours of Work: Sat-Wed | 8AM-5PM PST and as assigned

JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited direction of the Network Engineering Manager, this person is responsible to provide shift networking support. This Network Engineer is a mid-level position that works with various departments within the company, as well as vendors, designing[RA1] [JA2] , implementing, maintaining, and supporting our company's and our clients' network infrastructure. This role is required to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a 24 X 7 NOC environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement network infrastructure and security solutions.[RA3] [JA4]
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Perform network maintenance activities such as firmware upgrades and patching.
  • Manage network security protocols, including VPN, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Work with other IT teams to support and maintain various applications and services that rely on the network.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure network requirements are met for new technology implementations.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
  • Perform other duties as assinged.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS - Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • A miniuium of 5 years of experience in network engineering
  • Strongly prefreed industry certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE equivlant
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Understanding of SD-WAN and SASE technologies.
  • Strong experience with network security protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Working Conditions / Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Required to work in an office environment with moderate noise and moderate temperatures.
  • Incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as required.
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Standing/walking frequently
  • Occasionally: Bending/stooping, squatting, climb stairs, kneeling, balancing, reaching, driving, lifting (floor-to-waist, self, less than 30lbs), lifting (waist-to-shoulder, self, less than 30lbs)
  • Rarely/Never: Climb ladder, lifting (shoulder-to-overhead, self, less than 30lbs), lifting (floor-to-waist, partner, less than 30lbs), lifting (waist-to-shoulder, partner, less than 30lbs), lifting (shoulder-to-overhead, partner, less than 30lbs)
  • May require the ability to travel by air or auto.
  • These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Wages and Benefits:

  • This is a FT, Non-Exempt position. Pay is DOE, $55-75/Hour.
