JOB TITLE: Network Engineer II
LOCATION: 3200 Hackberry Road Irving, TX 75063 (Hybrid Role, may work from home)
DUTIES: Implement and manage network architecture, including routers, switches, load balancers and wireless. Implement and optimize the 7-Eleven network infrastructure in support of all data center, store, field office and cloud connectivity requirements. Will follow company policy and procedures along with industry best practices to ensure the overall health, security and scalability of the network infrastructure. Research existing technologies that align with business requirements and provide effective solutions based upon professional experience and industry best practices. Work collaboratively with other SME’s and team members on project solutions. Work in collaboration with the Network Operations Manager to communicate and resolve both technical and support issues. Produce engineering and implementation plans to support new initiatives as well as prepare reports and documentation on the existing network configuration as required. Participate in 7x24x365 On-Call operations for network infrastructure. Monitor, measure and report on the health and scalability of the network infrastructure. Will communicate to management as network usage approaches design thresholds and take action to preempt service degradation, focusing on the highest network uptime.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 4 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Network Engineer, Software Developer, Network Analyst, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 4 years in the following:
· Cisco routing, switching equipment and Cisco environment;
· Juniper Switches and routers;
· QOS, VOIP, and Cloud technologies such as VPS, Peering, NAT gateways or Security groups;
· IP Network and routing; and
· Data center hardware landscaping including overall IT systems landscape such as Virtualization.
Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
