Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is looking for an ELASTIC Network Engineer to work on the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) – Increment 1 (INC1) program. The Global Enterprise Network Modernization – OCONUS (GENM-O) is a critical mission provider responsible for keeping the Army connected through global network modernization projects. The Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) - Increment 1 (INC1) will unify the next generation of Army transport to comply with the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) divestiture mandate. A phased systematic approach is required to provide individual sites with standardized, updated technology systems to ensure the Army’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure is equipped to provide soldiers with cutting-edge technology to ensure applications, data, and enterprise services are accessible, trusted, and interoperable across the globe.
Primary Responsibilities
- Elastic subject matter expert serving as the technical expert on Elastic based projects
- Develops and maintains several Elastic Stacks with feeds and integrations from customer endpoints
- Develops and maintains logging and monitoring strategy utilizing Elastic Observability
- Provides troubleshooting support for Elastic deployments at the systems and software levels
- Supports customers with deployments of Elasticsearch
- Manages the deployment and maintenance of Elastic Agent implementations
- Supports the development of custom Kibana dashboards and alerts leveraging Elastic Security
- Coordinates with change control boards and provide installation, configuration, engineering, administration, and accreditation documents/diagrams for infrastructure upgrades, enhancements, and new technology deployments
- Designs, installs, maintains and coordinates the use of Linux network systems
- Trains users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts
- Achieves key project/program objectives and deliverables
- Supports an established collaborative work environment
- Mentors and coaches other technical staff
- Identifies and offers solutions to gaps in capabilities
- Promotes and implements automation and process efficiencies
Basic Qualifications
- Must currently possess and be able to maintain an active DoD SECRET security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
- B.S. degree or higher and 8+ years of prior relevant experience. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of Unix/Linux experience, 2+ years of Elasticsearch experience in production, in medium to large clusters
- Deep working knowledge of and proven experience with Elastic stack
- Strong understanding of Elastic index configuration options
- Experience with packaging and maintaining Beats and Elastic Agents through Fleet
- Hold DoD 8570 IAT-II
- Knowledge of computer security principles and DoD security protocols
- Deep understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP
