Job Summary:
The Network Engineer Associate will be responsible for working with a team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). Duties will include using IT knowledge to develop and/or maintain company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs and providing assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Maintaining computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware.
- Installing and configuring network equipment.
- Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
- Implementing disaster recovery procedures.
- Remediate any/all vulnerabilities for Business System applications.
- Supports systems analysts, as well as Government personnel to ensure that the problem has been properly identified and that the solution shall satisfy the customer’s requirements.
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
- Cisco Network Design and Troubleshooting.
- Firewalls, VPN concentrators, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- F5 configuration and troubleshooting.
- Windows Servers, VMware, Systems and DNS administration.
- Data Base management.
- Cloud Migration, Troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- System administrator experience in current Linux operating systems.
- Experience in Oracle Web Logic and/or Apache Web Servers.
- Experienced in principles, practices, or procedures used in phases of life cycle applications and systems development, or engineering, or programming, or analysis.
- Candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate must possess strong oral communication and written comprehension skills.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or associate degree (A.A./A.S.) in a related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification.
